Our Visit to the Heritage Centre

We visited the Staffordshire Bull Terrier Heritage Centre on Saturday 2nd November and what a fantastic time we had! There was so much to see that we will definitely be going back again. Some of the exhibits had been kinly donated by Stafford owners and enthusiasts whose memorabilia has been collected over a number of years. It includes Trophies and prizes from various shows around the country.

There were a lots of statues and figurines of Staffords, some in brass - like the one above - and some in pottery. They also have a fantastic collection of books which are just wonderful to browse through, looking at dogs from the past. There is even a file containing pictures and pedigrees, where possible, of every Stafford champion there has ever been!! There are loads of lovely drawings, paintings and sketches - some old, some new - but all wondeful to see.

The Centre is run by volunteers and it was lovely to chat to the people that were there when we visited. Joe Hill, Gill McDermott and Craig Stokes were all there when we visited, each of them having different stories to tell and experiences to share. They would love to see you - any Saturday from 11.00am to 3.00pm, The Old Post Office, Wednesbury, West Midlands, WS10 7DF (entrance from Albert Street). More photo's from our visit are in our Gallery - maybe see you there next time!!
